Travel Information

Dated: 4-May-17

If you are travelling abroad, you will need to start thinking about your travel vaccinations 8 weeks before travel as some vaccinations can take time to become effective.

Please allow 6-8 weeks for your travel forms to be processed at the Practice.

Before travelling overseas, it is important to be aware of the possible health risks and how to prevent problems, or minimise the chances of them occurring. Most importantly, you should know:

  • whether there are any specific health risks in the country you are travelling to for which you need to take precautions - for example, malaria
  • how to avoid becoming ill when you are abroad
  • what to do if you do become ill when you are abroad
  • how to get emergency medical treatment when you are abroad

If you are travelling and need immunisations or are unsure please complete the travel forms attached and submit to reception.

Please allow a minimum of 7-10 working days for the travel nurse to contact you and advise you.

Please download and complete our travel form:

Although we provide a comprehensive travel clinic at the surgery, if there is an immunisation we are not able to administer please contact The Royal Free Travel Health Centre.
